Product Description
EBC BSD Slotted Front Brake Rotors for B9 S4, S5 & SQ5 350x34 (Pair)
Made using precision GS3000 grey iron casting blanks the BSD disc is precision machined, inspected, flat ground, metallurgy check, balanced and corrosion-resistant finished at the EBC Northampton UK plant and is available for both front and rear fitments.
Quality Controls
The Uniquely created blade slot design helps to remove hot gases from the braking zone in a quick and efficient way much more so than a uni-directional slot. This helps to keep the pads flatter and the brakes cooler. The function of the multiple overlap slots reduce the brake wind noise.
The initial launch range of blade discs covers 80% of the European vehicle market for sport brakes. Used in conjunction with EBC Greenstuff sport brakes pads or the top selling Redstuff Brake Pads or Highest performing Yellowstuff brake pads range these brake discs are designed to stop faster and run cooler with less thermal distortions plus great looks. The all conquering new EBC Bluestuff NDX brake pads will also work well with these discs.
Made Using Discalloy
BSD (Blade Sports Discs) are made from a unique material known as “discalloy” for front and rear fitments.
The blade slot design is specially crafted to remove hot gases in an efficient way to help keep brake pads cooler and flatter. The multiple slots overlap to reduce the brake wind sound.
New GEN 3 Silver Grey Rotors and the Logic Behind It
In the past few years, EBC Brakes has enhanced its rotor production facilities, now over 80% of our rotor castings are produced in Europe and 100% of machining for sport rotors is done in either the UK or the USA.
EBC switched in early 2023 to a new silver grey Geomet style coating color, the photograph opposite from the AutoSport show a few years ago, shows what our rotors looked like before and the photo below shows the new product

The Reason For The Switch
- Silver color leaves the rotor hat or hub silver in appearance after bedding in – more likely to match a vehicle’s original rotor colors, so the front and back of the car look similar if you have only changed one axle
- The new silver finish has far higher corrosion resistance to the former black etch paint (thermic black versions)
- Painting is now done as a part of the rotor production process in the actual casting plant. This facility is more environmentally friendly, and air quality controlled and it also means the rotor castings are coated right after machining and washing leaving no time for surface corrosion to set in which happens minutes after a rotor is washed and left as naked iron
We call these… GEN 3
